The story revolves around an entity capable of transforming itself into the worst fears of its prey, which allows it to exploit the victim's obsession. It takes the form of a cunning clown called Pennywise by Tim Curry. The main characters are The Lucky Seven, or The Losers Club, a group of abandoned children who have discovered the secret of the name Pennywise and vowed to destroy him in any way. The series takes place in two different time periods, and is divided into 2 episodes. The first time The Losers Club was a kid was to discover that the Pennywise name was real, and the second time they'd grown up and been summoned back to defeat Pennywise again.
